I learned so many new things from the Mozambique Skype. Before we talked about Mozambique in class, I wasn’t sure if I even knew where it was. In Mozambique they eat a lot of bread and corn. Most children go to school in Mozambique even if they cannot afford schoolbooks or school supplies. Family is very important. Most families don’t live together. Some family members work in the city. Interaction between adults and children is very uncommon. Thank you Ms. Brown.
Thank you Ms. Brown for Skyping with us. I enjoyed talking to you about the entertainment of Mozambique. In addition one thing I thought was interesting that you said was when you mentioned that if you go to government hospitals you have to bring your own food and sheets. I thought it was interesting that some people have to wait in a line all day for medical services.
I found it interesting that the country of Mozambique is about the size of California. The sad thing about this country is the fact that the illiteracy rate is about 48% and many of the kids in the country are malnourished. The thing that I like is that families usually aren’t around each other 24/7, but they are sill very close to each other. Thank you Ms. Brown for skyping with us!
Thank You Ms. Brown for Skyping with us. I learned alot of new things about Mozambique i did even know there was a place named Mozambique! I like how they vote. I cant believe that some kids that are 16 read at a 4th grade level! I liked learning everything that you told us about and how they do thing in Mozambique.i cant believe that the president got paid 5 million dollars to quit his job! Thanks again :)
THANK YOU MS. BROWN FOR SKYPING WITH US ABOUT MOZAMBIQUE CULTURE!!!!!!!!!! VERY INTERESTING!!!!!! It is cool to know that they still have KFC in Mozambique because that place is amazing!!!!!! I know that it would be really cool to go to Mozambique and to learn more, but I would still rather not go there at this time because it would be depressing for me to see all the people in poverty. frameg 4th hour integrated tech.
I learned a lot from the Mozambique Skype. I thought the way they vote was interesting. The ballots have the picture of the candidates instead of the names because of the almost 50% illiteracy rate. People dip their finger in a dye and place their fingerprint on the picture of their choice. I thought it was interesting that Mozambique is just discovering its natural resources because they spent so much time fighting a civil war. Some of their resources include, diamonds, gold, coal, metals, and natural resources. I thought the way families are set up is very interesting. Parents are usually out of the house working and the children sit at home being watched by an older sibling. Schooling was also very surprising to me. If a child can’t afford books, they just sit and listen to the teacher. Almost 70 kids are in 1 classroom. Laws about domestic abuse were just recently passed. Mozambique’s money has recently increased in value. I thought it was cool that Mozambique had KFC. I also thought it was strange that they only had like 2 restaurants. Mozambiquians eat a lot of bread, peanuts, cassava, and coconuts. I thought their festivals were cool, such as, the hippo festival. I also thought it was weird that only about 1/3 of the people celebrate religion. I learned a lot from the Skype. I would like to thanks Ms.Brown for Skyping with us and teaching us a lot about Mozambique.

Mozambique was a very interesting country, I enjoyed skyping with Ms. Brown, and I learned a lot of new things about it. I thought it interesting how they are just now finding a lot of their national resources because they have been in a civil war for a long time. Some of these natural resources are diamonds, gold, and coal. The government doesn’t own all of the mines but they have the rights to mine them and keep the resources they find. Many of the mines are new and have only started being mined the last couple of years. Gab-4th hr.
Mozambique has a very interesting society that is like ours but different. The school system is different compared to ours because when you enroll for school you don’t have to pay, but you have to pay for your books and supplies. I believe the country could do more about this like Ms. Brown had told us. The holidays are not celebrated as much as I thought they would be. Instead, they have festivals and other events. Voting is unusual compared to America because they put a fingerprint on the picture of the one they want to be president. As I was told in the Skype, the country is just starting to find many natural resources that they didn’t know about. Mozambique has many unique qualities that make it a country I would like to know more about. Thank you Ms. Brown for skyping with my 4th hour class. I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to help me learn more about this country. Again, thank you!
Mozambique Skype Interview I thought the most interesting part of the Skype interview was the Hippo Festival. I thought that it was so different than what Americans would do. At the Hippo Festival they kill and eat a hippo and dance, sing, and just celebrate. It would be cool to experience the Hippo Festival myself. Thank you Ms. Brown (: ~Jen 4th hr.
Thank you ms. brown for Skyping with us. I enjoyed learning about Mozambique culture which is alot different that ours. I don’t think many people realize the different cultures out there. Thanks for opening that window to our class in Mozambique the amount of resources is amazing. I never would have thought that your country was a mineral country.
I wouldn’t like to live in Mozambique, because how the schools are. I wouldn’t like to have 70 kids in one classroom with just one teacher. It would be hard to learn with so many kids in one class. Their last president got $5,000 for quitting his jobs. In the U.S our president does not get paid for quitting. I thought it was interesting how they vote. They have to put dye on their fingers and put their finger with the dye on it, on the picture who they want for president Thanks you Ms. Brown
Thank you Ms. Brown for all of the information from the Mozambique that you shared with us. It helped our class learn a lot and show the Mozambiquan culture. It showed us their holidays, traditions, culture, education, food, and more. It showed us that one teacher has to watch and teach about 70 children in each class. The main places to eat are KFC and Steers, because all of the other main restaurants went out of business. They have All-African games and it helps athletes train and helps them learn what they should and shouldn’t do. We thank you again for taking all of your time out of your day to share with us all the information you new about Mozambique. We hope you can do it again and teach us even more.
Thank you Ms. Brown for sharing your information about mozambique with us. I now know to be very careful when driving in Mozambique, if I am to go there some day. I knew that there is no limit to how many people there are in a vehicle. It depends on how many people you can squeeze into the vehicle. And I learned that there are no driving laws making walking and driving very dangerous. Thanks again Chelsea
I learned a lot from skyping with Ms.Brown about the culture of Mozambiqueans. Also I really enjoyed it. Some of the facts were very intresting. Some of the facts are the last president recieved $5 million, your finger gets dipped in ink for voting, and school starts when your seven. I would like to thank Ms. Brown for taking the time to skype with us. Sam 4th Hpur
Thank you Ms. Brown for Skyping with our class! I learned so much about the Mozambique culture. I find the mixed Animist and Christian religion interesting. It is good to see that the people are coming around to Christianity. Thank you again for Skypeing with me!
I thought that the education in Mozambique is very different. I think it is very sad how they are so behind in school! We start school way earlier than they do! Thank you Ms. Brown for skyping with us!
I would like to thank Ms. Brown for all she did in teaching us about Mozambique. I learned a lot about the culture there. I am now thankful for the things that I once took for granite. Stuff that we have here does not always come as easy there. ~Laura :)
I would love to thank Mrs. Brown for skyping with us. Even though I didn't get to be here for the real skype, I got to watch a recording of it and it was still a great learning experience. I thought it was really neat that Mozambique gets a lot of clothing from donation places in the America's such as Goodwill, and that Mrs. Brown has even seen children wearing UW Madison t-shirts. Thanks again to Mrs. Brown.
