After Skyping with a researcher about generational differences from another state, what are three main takeaways you have about learning. Please share any aha moments.
I was amazed by how fast our generation is matureing. I also was suprised that she didnt use to throw her tin foil away. I didnt think that she new so much from just reserching.
One important thing that I learned through Skyping with was that communication with people’s values in mind is very important. Another thing I learned was that people just a few years apart will act very differently. The final thing I would like to note is that I learned that if people from different generations are not willing to do things from different generations, things can become much more challenging. An aha moment I had was when I wondered if the newest generation would be able to support a world that past generations have set up.
One of the things that I learned throughout the skyping was how she said we are going to have jobs when we get older that doesn't even exist. I found that very important and thought about it. The second thing I learned as when she said her and her boyfriends sent letter from Europe to America. I didn't know they would send stuff all the way there and back. The speaker made it very fun to talk with.
- the business thing was really interesting - I had never thought about that all of our jobs might not even exist yet. -last but not least I could not think of what the traditionalist's name was
One of the things that I learned is that our generation is more advanced than past generations, which is really cool. Our generation likes to learn by having hands on. And our generation's future jobs are probably not even invented yet, like maybe drone technology jobs.
I learned that our generation likes to learn with hands on things. Our generation is more advanced in robotics and in the future there is probably going to be more jobs to do with electronics.
I learned quite a bit about past generations and my current generations. Like, how in the past they might call things different or they may reuse things that now days we just throw away after using them. I also learned more about the jobs in our generation vs the past generations. Like, when we grow up its like we can do almost anything. Even maybe own your own business, but for past generations it would have been more challenging especially if you were to drop out of high school or college or maybe not even go to college.
The three things I learned from skyping with Mrs. Allen was: 1. When my question was answered, i found out that we advanced so much from the past generations. We learn a lot faster apparently, and culture wise too 2. I learned that jobs that don't even exist right now are the jobs we are going to be studying for in the futre 3. Lastly I found out that we are growing up to always to recycle
1. The people in my generation are called "digital natives". 2. We are sometimes seen as wasteful. 3. We are more globally connected than past generations.
I learn a lot about my generation. I learned new names for my generation. Another thing that I took from the Skype was that we are more open minded than most people in past generations. I also found out that a lot of the jobs we might have in the future don't even exist yet. Some of those jobs involve drones. I took in new information about this my generation, past generations, and the generations to come.
1- It was interesting to find out that we (generation z) are more open minded then past generations. 2- It was also interesting to learn that most of our jobs haven't been invented yet. Lastly, I learned that there are other names for our generation then just Generation X.
Hi everyone! Thanks for letting me "Skype Crash" your class! I am glad that you all enjoyed our time together. I enjoyed my time with all of you! Let's keep in touch! Mrs. Allen
